Lilburn, GA, is located in the western part of Gwinnett County, with a population of more than 12,000 residents. The land once inhabited by the Lower Creek Indians, Lilburn was founded in 1890 along the Seaboard Airline Railway corridor, and was named after its general superintendent, Lilburn Trigg Myers.
A disastrous fire and the devastating economic times in the 1920's practically destroyed the City of Lilburn. But it slowly recovered and in the 1970's, a new city hall was built in the Old Town area, thus launching a booming prosperity that continues today.
The Old Town district, described as a "Slice of History," hosts festivals like Lilburn Daze showcasing arts and crafts, and the much-anticipated Annual Christmas Parade. Along with new shops, restaurants, parks and all kinds of entertainment, Lilburn thrives and offers its residents and visitors a revitalized town with a rich quality of life hard to find elsewhere. With an exemplary school system and small-town atmosphere, Lilburn shines as one of the most desirable suburbs of the north metro Atlanta area.
