Snellville's roots go back, however, to 19th century London when two friends, James Sawyer and Thomas Snell, had a vision for settling in America.

At the time Sawyer and Snell opened a supply store, commerce began in what would become Snellville. Initial growth was slow, but during the 1960's, suburban expansion was developing, and its prosperity continues with what some people say is Snellville's Southern hospitality and versatility.

With a variety of shops, restaurants, schools, cultural events, recreational opportunities and area attractions, Snellville's residents enjoy a great quality of living.
